The boys hostel is now under construction, check out the photos in the 2013 Gallery.
Congratulations to our students!
2013 Malawi School Certificate Exam results have been very good for the school with a pass rate of 67% compared to the national average of 52%.
5 of our students have qualified to sit for the university entry exam which is a remarkable achievement when compared to last academic year when we only had 1 student.
Among the students there have been quite a few who have achieved distinctions in their subjects such as, Mathematics, Biology, Physical Science and English despite having inadequate facilities at our school. Many thanks to the teaching staff who put in a lot of extra effort to help the students achieve this high standard.
Mrs Anne Cooley the Deputy Head teacher from Applefields School York, recently expressed the desire to aid our school financially by doing a sponsored coast to coast cycle ride. This is a long and difficult task. We are very pleased to announce that she successfully completed the cycle ride and raised £900 to go to our school in Malawi.
The money will directly assist us in constructing the boys hostel so that it improves the student intake for the coming academic year. It will also pay the fees for two students to attend our school.
We are very Grateful for this donation.
Once again Mwabi Institute of Education and Technology has achieved a remarkable exam pass rate for the Junior Certificate exam. We achieved 91% pass rate compared to the national pass rate of 66.6%. Congratulations to the students and teachers at Mwabi-Institute.
The New academic year begins on 5th September 2012 and we expect more students this year, hopefully over 200. We still need to build a hostel for boys and girls so that we can increase the intake.
